Mahindra has introduced the new BE 6 Sporteq electric SUV in India, with a starting price of Rs 19.45 lakh (ex-showroom). However, the brand has also introduced a BaaS or Battery-as-a-Service, rental subscription program, which allows a low initial buying cost and a pay-per-kilometre package.
Mahindra BE 6 Sporteq BaaS details explained
As per the official details, the new BE 6 Sporteq is available with BaaS from Rs 11.45 lakh (ex-showroom). There are essentially two variants with a battery rental subscription that buyers can purchase, which include ONE and TWO. The TWO variant has been priced at Rs 12.95 lakh (ex-showroom). Both BaaS variants are based on the 59 kWh battery pack, and Mahindra is charging Rs 3.75 per kilometre as the battery rental fee.
The brand has commenced pre-bookings, and deliveries are scheduled to begin on August 26. The new BE 6 Sporteq features two new exterior colours: Ruby Velvet and Graphite Storm.
There are no design changes made to its exterior, but the interior now features a triple-screen dashboard consisting of 12.3-inch screens. The latter has been carried over from the XEV 9E model range, and it is available on select variants of the BE 6 Sporteq. Mahindra has also updated the interior theme with a new tan and black dual-tone leather upholstery.
The brand has also added new features like the TEQ_Ask, which uses AI-assisted voice commands with Google Gemini; a new TEQ_Drive feature with new drive modes; and a Revive SOS mode that can drive the EV up to 13 km with 0 percent battery.
Mahindra has made no other changes to the BE 6 Sporteq. It is now available with a new 70 kWh battery pack, which has been slotted between the 59 kWh and 79 kWh battery variants.
