BGauss has launched the C12 MaxR electric scooter in India, positioning it as a more premium and feature-rich version of the C12. It is priced at an introductory Rs 1.46 lakh (ex-showroom), while the effective price with the PM E-Drive incentive is Rs 1.55 lakh. The introductory price is expected to increase later.
Battery and power
The C12 MaxR gets a 3.8 kWh LFP battery with an IP67 rating and an IDC-certified range of 178km. It uses BGauss’ new HyperZen in-wheel motor, which produces 4.2 kW of peak power and enables a top speed of over 75 kmph.
The scooter gets three riding modes: Eco, Ride and Sport. Reverse mode, cruise control and regenerative braking are also offered.
Practical hardware and storage
The C12 MaxR rides on 12-inch alloy wheels and uses telescopic front forks along with a five-step adjustable Nitrox gas-charged rear suspension. Braking hardware includes a 220mm front disc and rear CBS.
It offers 160mm of ground clearance and can carry a maximum payload of 150 kg. Storage is another focus, with space for two helmets under the seat, along with a lockable front compartment, bottle and mobile holders, an umbrella holder and a large floorboard.
TFT display and connected features
The scooter gets a 5-inch TFT instrument cluster with turn-by-turn navigation, call notifications, ride and charging information, user profiles and multiple display themes.
Other features include fall detection, wireless charging, connected functions, SOS and DigiLocker integration. The combination of range, storage and technology makes the C12 MaxR more of a family-oriented electric scooter rather than a purely urban commuter.
The C12 MaxR is available in Sparkling Wine with Champagne Gold, Terra Green with Champagne Gold, Pearl White and Satin Black.
