- BYD India has announced a price hike across select EV variants
- Revised prices will come into effect from July 1, 2026
- Price increase ranges from Rs 50,000 to Rs 1 lakh
BYD India has announced a price revision for select variants across its passenger EV lineup. The revised prices will come into effect from July 1, 2026, with the increase ranging between Rs 50,000 and Rs 1 lakh, depending on the model and variant.
Which BYD models are affected?
The revised pricing applies to select variants of:
- BYD ATTO 3
- BYD SEAL
- BYD SEALION 7
However, not every variant sees a price increase. BYD says certain versions of the ATTO 3 and eMAX 7 will continue to be sold at their existing prices.
Why are prices going up?
According to BYD India, the revision is driven by several factors, including:
- Rising input costs
- Inflationary pressures
- Continued investment in dealership expansion
- Increased spending on advanced vehicle technologies
The company says the move is necessary to support its growing operations and continue offering new technologies to Indian customers.
New BYD eMAX 7 Comfort variant launched
Alongside the price revision, BYD has expanded the eMAX 7 lineup with a new Comfort variant.
Priced from Rs 27.90 lakh (ex-showroom), the new variant now comes with a 71.8 kWh battery pack, offering buyers a more affordable entry point into BYD’s electric MPV range.
BYD continues to grow in India
BYD has been steadily expanding its footprint in the Indian market.
The company currently:
- Has 48 dealerships across 40 cities
- Has served over 14,000 customers in India
- Recently introduced its DM-i plug-in hybrid technology for the Indian market
- Continues to offer proprietary technologies such as the Blade Battery, Cell-to-Body (CTB) construction and iTAC vehicle control system across its lineup.
Our Thoughts
Price hikes are never welcome, but they’re becoming increasingly common across the industry as manufacturers deal with rising costs.
The good news is that BYD hasn’t increased prices across every variant, and the launch of a more affordable eMAX 7 Comfort variant helps balance things out for buyers looking at a family-friendly electric MPV.
