Hyundai has begun the road testing phase of the next-generation Creta in South Korea. Its first-ever spy shots have surfaced online, revealing interesting design and feature details. Read below what to expect from the new-gen Creta.

2027 Hyundai Creta: Everything we know so far
New platform and bigger in size
Hyundai has codenamed the next-generation Creta as SX3 internally. The latest spy shots reveal that the new-gen model will be longer and bigger in size. This is similar to the growth of the new Kia Seltos, as both cars are essentially similar under the skin.
The test car also has a long wheelbase, which will increase the rear passenger space, especially the legroom. Moreover, it retains the boxy design with its flat roofline, integrated roof rails, and flush-type door handles. The test car also has two different alloy wheels: a black alloy at the front and a dual-tone alloy at the rear, indicating that the variant-wise design will differ.
Other critical details include the new fascia with a bolder and butch outlook. Although covered, the front design has a protruding design with bumper-embedded LED headlamps. The ADAS module and camera on the front are also visible, which indicates that a new set of ADAS features will debut, offering more safety.
New interiors and more features
Hyundai is known for introducing segment-first features, and the next-gen Creta is likely to continue this trend. We suspect that it will get an all-new interior design with a new dashboard, a new steering wheel, an improved connected display, and new wireless features with AI assistance, massaging front seats, and more.
With the increased wheelbase, the rear passengers could be benefitted with the reclining rear seats with a ventilation option. Additionally, the increased length will help in offering more boot space to compete with the newly introduced Renault Duster, which offers up to 700 litres of boot space.
Hybrid engine coming soon
With the next-gen Creta, Hyundai will continue offering the current engine options that include the 1.5-litre naturally-aspirated petrol, a 1.5-litre turbo petrol, and the 1.5-litre turbo diesel. However, the brand had earlier revealed that it is working on the hybrid engines, and these are not far from launch.
We suspect, and the online rumours also hint the same, that the new-gen Creta is likely to introduce a 1.8-litre strong hybrid motor. The hybrid engine is now required more because the new Renault Duster has also debuted with the same, thus it will hinder Hyundai’s future sales. Hence, a new hybrid motor is under development.
Furthermore, Kia has also said that it will debut the Seltos with a hybrid motor by 2027, which solidifies that the new-gen Creta will become the baton bearer for the hybrid tech.
India launch timeline and expected price
Considering that the road testing of the next-gen Creta has begun in South Korea, we suspect that it will be introduced in India by late 2027. Its pricing will be increased due to the larger size and new features. Its main competitors will be the new-gen Renault Duster and the Tata Sierra.
