- Kawasaki Ninja ZX-6R gets a free Öhlins steering damper
- It is part of the official accessories, priced at Rs 83,000
- No other changes were made to the bike
Kawasaki has rolled out a new offer for the Ninja Zx-6R customers. The middleweight sports bike is now available with a free Öhlins steering damper, which is otherwise sold for Rs 83,000 as part of the official accessory kit of the bike.
As per the brand, this is a limited-run offer, and it will last until the current stock of Öhlins dampers runs out. The main job of a steering damper is to reduce the vertical and horizontal vibrations and oscillations induced by the forces and traction of the bike.
A common phenomenon that is called ‘Tank Slapper’ or ‘Steering Wobble’ is induced because of it. Hence, a steering damper is usually installed to ensure that the bike never loses control. The former phenomenon becomes more evident at higher speeds, especially on enclosed tracks.
Speaking of the bike, the ZX-6R is the brand’s middleweight sports bike offering in India. It is a super-sport, which means that it is designed primarily for track racing. Hence, it gets a committed riding posture and a 636cc inline-four cylinder liquid-cooled engine producing 124 bhp at 13,000 rpm and 69 Nm at 11,000 rpm.
The Ninja ZX-6R also comes with dual-front disc brakes, Kawasaki Traction Control, ride modes, a coloured TFT instrument screen, Bluetooth connectivity, navigation support, SMS/call alerts, hazard lights and more. In terms of styling, it gets a dual-pod LED headlight at the front, an aggressive bodywork with sharp fuel tank, lifted tail section, and a front-set clip-on handle position.
The new ZX-6R will set you back at Rs 12.49 lakh (ex-showroom). This new offer is available pan-India, and customers can either get the damper fitted at the dealership before delivery, or after.
