KTM 390 Adventure X, Enduro R, SMC R recall details
The latest recall for the selected 390cc adventure motorcycle range by KTM comes after the brand found out that certain models have been fitted with a faulty side-stand. The fault has occurred due to the forged side stand, which has been reported to fail the spring during riding due to the vibrations. This can lead to the unintentional movement of the side stand, leading to mishaps or damage to the motorcycle.
The brand has already begun to contact the owners of the recall-hit motorcycles. In fact, in some cases, a support plate will also be bolted, which will ensure that the side stand does not loosen or hinder the motorcycle’s operations.
Meanwhile, KTM has also announced that Indian customers are safe from this recall. It is because the Indian-spec model uses a different side stand that has been specifically fabricated with rugged construction to withstand the vibrations and off-road abuse.
