Upcoming Maruti Suzuki cars spotted: What to expect?
The latest spy shots of three upcoming Maruti cars spotted together have surfaced online from the Himalayas, hinting that the brand is developing a new range of models. These three models include the Brezza facelift, Baleno facelift, and the YMC electric three-row MPV.
1. Brezza facelift
The first car seen in the video is the upcoming Brezza facelift. Out of the three, this one is closest to the launch timeline, as it is being repeatedly seen testing in Delhi-NCR.
Speaking of the changes, the Brezza facelift will offer a cosmetic makeover. The front fascia is likely to be inspired by the Victoris, including the new grille, new set of bumpers, new alloy wheels, and new colours.
On the inside, the Brezza facelift is likely to get a new steering wheel, a new infotainment screen, and updated features, including wireless charging, ventilated front seats, electric seats, and more.
A major update on the Brezza facelift is expected to be a new petrol engine. It is most likely to be below 1,200cc to take advantage of the new GST rules. Rumours suggest that it could be powered by the 1.0-litre turbo petrol engine and a new 6-speed transmission.
2. Baleno facelift
Spotted along the Brezza facelift is the upcoming Baleno facelift. It is also likely to offer a cosmetic upgrade, including the new bumpers, new grille, new headlights, and new taillights.
The cabin experience of the Baleno facelift is also likely to be elevated with the new infotainment console, wireless charging, ventilated seats, and more. Mechanically, the updated Baleno is most likely to remain unchanged. However, Maruti is developing a new series hybrid engine, which is likely to be featured in the Baleno facelift by 2027.
3. YMC electric MPV
Seen last is the YMC electric MPV. It has been recently spotted for the first time, and Maruti has already taken it to the mountains. The YMC MPV is based on a new electric platform, which is rumoured to be inspired by the e Vitara.
Even the exterior highlights of the test car look identical to the e Vitara to an extent. The test mule boasts a unique design that offers an SUV-like front profile with an upright stance, LED headlights, a covered grille, and aerodynamic alloy wheels, while the rear end boasts an MPV-like outlook with big rear quarter glass and a raised roofline.
The YMC EV is likely to be introduced in India later in 2028, and it could also be offered in an ICE guise, possibly featuring the upcoming series hybrid engine.
