Key Highlights
- Tata Motors has confirmed six product launches for FY2027.
- Two will be all-new models: the Sierra EV and the Safari EV. Four will be facelifts, expected to cover the Tiago and Tigor across both ICE and EV variants.
- The first Avinya EV is also expected to debut before the end of FY2027.Â
Tata Motors had a strong FY2026. Record passenger vehicle sales of 6.4 lakh units. A 40.2% EV market share. The Sierra already ranked fifth in its segment within months of launch. Now the company is pressing the accelerator on its product plan for FY2027.
Six launches before March 2027. Here is what each of them is.
The two new models
Sierra EV is the first launch out of the gate. It is confirmed for Q2 FY2027, which means July to September 2026. It will sit between the Curvv EV and Harrier EV in Tata’s electric portfolio. Two battery options are expected: 55 kWh and 65 kWh. Both RWD and AWD configurations are on the cards.
Safari EV follows later in the year, targeted at the festive season. It will be Tata’s first three-row electric SUV and will lead the brand’s EV lineup as the range-topping model, going up against the Mahindra XEV 9S. Battery options are expected to carry over from the Harrier EV: 65 kWh and 75 kWh, with both RWD and AWD layouts.
The four facelifts
The four planned facelifts are expected to cover the Tiago and Tigor nameplates across both ICE and EV variants. Both models have gone without meaningful updates for a while. The refreshed Tiago and Tigor EVs could feature Tata’s new 6-in-1 drivetrain that debuted with the 2026 Punch EV facelift. Test mules of the updated Tiago EV have already been spotted on public roads.
The Avinya Wildcard
Beyond the six confirmed launches, Tata is also expected to debut the first production EV from its Avinya premium brand in the second half of FY2027, possibly at the 2027 Bharat Mobility Show. This inaugural Avinya EV is likely to be a large SUV underpinned by Tata’s first born-electric skateboard architecture.
This one is the most significant. If Avinya delivers on its premium positioning, it takes Tata into a segment where it has never competed before.

Tata is not slowing down. The question is whether it can execute all of this within the year while managing supply chain pressures and rising waiting periods on existing models.
