MG Majestor: Everything to know before buying
The new Majestor is now available in India at Rs 40.99 lakh to Rs 44.99 lakh (ex-showroom), respectively for the 4X2 and 4X4 versions. It is based on the Gloster, but it packs a host of cosmetic changes and new feature add-ons.
On the outside, the new Majestor packs a redesigned front fascia as compared to the Gloster. The new SUV is more butch and has an upright stance with the new octagonal grille with horizontal slats, new daytime running lights, new vertical LED headlamps, and a redesigned bumper with a silver skid plate placed underneath.
With a major front fascia revision, the side profile will remind you of the Gloster. The only thing that differentiates it from the Gloster on the side is the chunky dual-tone alloy wheels. Meanwhile, the rear design boasts a set of new connected LED taillights and a redesigned bumper. You can also find the big Majestor lettering on the boot, which we frankly think could have been smaller.
Move on the inside, and you will find a more luxurious and upmarket cabin. The new dashboard definitely looks attractive, and so do the luxury touches like the leather highlights on the dashboard, door panels, etc. On the other hand, the new 12.3-inch dual screens for infotainment and driver console pack the latest UI and wireless connectivity, which has now become a segment standard.
However, MG surely knows how to distinguish its cars, and hence the Majestor comes loaded with a dual-pane panoramic sunroof, triple-zone climate control, 12-way electric seat adjustment, ventilated seats, two wireless charging pads with cooling, a Level 2 ADAS with 360-degree camera, an electric tailgate with gesture control, and more.
Powering the Majestor is the Stellantis-sourced 2.2-litre twin-turbo diesel engine that offers 213 bhp and 478 Nm. It is paired with an 8-speed AT gearbox and a 4WD drivetrain that gets three locking differentials, 10 terrain modes, and a crawl function.
The pre-bookings of the Majestor had already commenced, and its deliveries are expected to begin shortly.
