Bengaluru-based electric two-wheeler manufacturer Simple Energy has announced the reveal date of its upcoming family electric scooter. This new scooter will focus on practicality, comfort, and high range, which are the main concerns of a family e-scooter buyer in India.
What to expect from the Simple Energy family e-scooter?
This upcoming electric scooter was previously sighted during road testing in South India. The test mule showed its family-centric design with a conventional petrol scooter-like front apron and a headlight cowl, curvy panels, a large seat, a big footboard area, and a relaxed riding posture.
Over time, the affordable family electric scooter segment has emerged as the prime market for EV manufacturers in India. Hence, making an affordable but well-equipped electric scooter was the need of the hour for Simple.
However, the company has not revealed any further details about this electric scooter. We suspect that it could carry over the same battery specs as the Simple Ultra. The latter offers a 400 km range, but it could be lower on the family e-scooter model, as we suspect it to get more basic hardware and performance.
Another area where this scooter will focus will be the long list of features. It will get the likes of a TFT console with Bluetooth connectivity and features like keyless ignition, proximity lock and unlock, geofencing, voice commands, built-in navigation, and more.
Simple could price this electric scooter near Rs 1-1.2 lakh, which is the sweet spot to hit the market leaders like the TVS iQube and Bajaj Chetak. More details will be revealed in the coming days. Stay tuned to shifting-gears for the exclusive details of this electric scooter.
