- Two test mules of the Mahindra BE 07 electric SUV spied
- It is likely to be positioned between the BE 6 and XEV 9S
- Mahindra is expected to reveal it later next year
Mahindra’s next big bet in the EV lineup expansion is going to be the BE 07 SUV. The brand had released the concept car’s images the previous year, and the final product has been under development for some time. The latest spotting of two test mules of the BE 07 show that the car is nearing its production form.
Mahindra BE 07: What to expect?
As visible in the latest spy images, two test mules of what we suspect is the BE 07 were spotted together. Although completely camouflaged, both cars were bearing production-ready equipment, including the LED headlights, frameless doors, and alloy wheels. However, the taillights were makeshift, which we suspect are yet to be finalised or tested.
Mahindra released the concept images of the BE 07 last year, and the camouflaged test cars appear more or less like the concept itself. The proof of this is the prominent shoulder line that merges into the big quarter area that gets a steeply raked rear windshield, giving it a sporty outlook.
The BE 07 is expected to be positioned between the BE 6 and the XEV 9S. Unlike the XEV series, which offers family compatibility with its three-row setup, the BE series focuses on sporty driving dynamics and youthful design appeal. Proof of this is the BE 6, which was launched with special editions like the Batman Edition, showing the BE series has been primarily designed for urban, young buyers.
We suspect that the BE 07 will be based on the INGLO platform, which is also shared with the BE 6. Hence, the battery specifications and range of the BE 07 could also be in the same ballpark as the BE 6.
Mahindra focuses on first-in-segment technology and features, and the BE 07, with no existing rival as of now, will focus on tech and modern features, along with chunky and muscular looks and fast performance. We expect Mahindra to introduce the BE 07 in India later next year. It could be priced somewhere around Rs 25-30 lakh.
