What to expect from the Tata Sierra EV?
Revealed recently during a media interaction with Shailesh Chandra, MD & CEO, Tata Passenger Vehicles, the carmaker is readying the Sierra EV for the launch in India in the second quarter of this year. The official also revealed that this year is a busy one for the carmaker as it is focused on increasing production capacity and introducing new models.
Speaking about the new models, Shailesh Chandra also revealed that Tata has set a target of launching two new nameplates and four new facelifts of the ICE and EV models. One of these is the Sierra EV. Mind you, Tata is also rigorously working on the upcoming Avinya nameplate, which will be a new premium brand offering JLR-sourced/co-developed models.
The electric Sierra will be positioned below the Harrier EV. However, we believe that it will share the battery options and the drivetrain options with the former. Tata had earlier confirmed that the Sierra EV will also get an AWD, which we expect to be offered only on the range-topping trims.
