Toyota Urban Cruiser Ebella EV launched: Know all details

The Urban Cruiser Ebella EV is based on the Maruti e Vitara. In fact, it is a badge-engineered car, and the only changes it gets from the Maruti sibling are the cosmetic tweaks. Toyota calls it ‘Urban Tech’ styling, and the front fascia is completely different from the e Vitara.

At the front, the Ebella EV features a set of sleek LED headlamps with wraparound LED daytime running lights. Connecting the headlamps is a sleek, closed grille, while the bumper gets a butch styling, which gives it a more upright stance.

The side profile and the rear profile of the Ebella are the same as those of the e Vitara. The only notable change is the different colour options and alloy wheels with a new design.

The cabin of the Ebella is similar to the e Vitara as well. However, it is not a bad thing because the e Vitara itself is a luxurious offering. The dashboard gets a dual-connected screen panel tilted towards the driver, while the new two-spoke steering wheel and rich leather upholstery give the cabin a plush and premium feel. You do feel like sitting inside a car one segment above.

Features are also hi-tech, as the Ebella comes with wireless Android Auto and Apple CarPlay, wireless charging, drive modes, regen modes, JBL sound system, electric seats with ventilation, Level 2 ADAS, a 360-degree camera, electronic parking brake, electric tailgate, and more.

While Toyota is yet to reveal the prices of the E1 and E2 variants, the E3 is powered by a 61 kWh battery pack that develops 171 bhp and 193 Nm, figures that are identical to the e Vitara. Sadly, there is no AWD on offer, but the ARAI-claimed range stands at 543 km. For serious buyers, Toyota is offering BaaS or Battery-as-a-Service subscription option, finance schemes, and assured buyback options as well.
