Triumph Motorcycles has introduced a new, special-edition Speed Twin 1200 TFC in India just a day after it was revealed globally. The new limited-edition model is available for Rs 20.99 lakh (ex-showroom), and only 750 units of it will ever be made.

Triumph Speed Twin 1200 TFC: What makes it special?

The new Speed Twin 1200 TFC is based on the standard model, but unlike any other limited-edition bike, the changes on it are not just limited to the cosmetic tweaks and special numberings. The new Speed Twin 1200 TFC packs a redesigned bodywork and a new riding position that is more committed.

Triumph has fitted a new clip-on handlebar on the TFC model. Moreover, it gets rear-set rider footpegs, which offer a lowered and forward-set riding posture. The TFC is going to make you feel like riding a cafe racer bike to an extent, so the comfort of the standard model loses out on this one.

The new limited-run Speed Twin 1200 TFC also features Ohlins suspension on both ends, which offers adjustability for preload, compression, and rebound. It also gets the twin carbon fibre finished Akrapovic exhausts for a sweet sounding riding experience.

In terms of styling, the Speed Twin 1200 TFC packs a new Obsidian Gold paint that gets gold particles that become prominently visible with the change of lighting. It also gets a black engine cover, fork sliders, black control plates, and mechanical components finished in the black shade.

Triumph has used carbon fibre on plenty of panels, including the mudguards, side panels, and heel guards. The suede black leather seat offers higher grip and more comfort, although we are not sure about the latter as the bike has a dedicated riding position.

Triumph has also added a more powerful braking system. It offers Brembo Stylema calipers, a Brembo radial master cylinder, and MCN adjustable levers. The tyres have also been upgraded with the new Metzeler Racetec RR K3 rubber, which offers more grip and control.

Powering the TFC special edition Speed Twin is the 1,200cc parallel-twin that produces 104 bhp of power and 112 Nm of torque. This powertrain is paired to a six-speed gearbox with a slipper clutch and ride modes, along with traction control modes.

Customers can pre-book their individual units via Triumph’s official website or by contacting the nearest dealership.
