Key highlights

TVS Motor Company has taken the production-ready version of its M1-S electric maxi-scooter to EICMA 2026, a year after showcasing the concept at the same event. Developed in Singapore, the M1-S is primarily intended for European markets and marks TVS’ attempt to expand its electric two-wheeler portfolio beyond conventional city scooters.

The M1-S follows the maxi-scooter format, with a prominent front apron, large windscreen, layered body panels and a long, stepped seat. The production model showcased at EICMA features a dual-tone black and white finish, while Spectre Black is confirmed for its European launch.

Battery and range

Power comes from a 4.2 kWh NMC lithium-ion battery mounted low in the floorboard. It feeds a chassis-mounted permanent magnet synchronous motor producing 5 kW of rated power and 12.5 kW of peak power.

TVS claims a 0-50 kmph acceleration time of 3.7 seconds and a top speed of 105 kmph. The expected range stands at 120 km under the European WMTC testing cycle, based on internal testing and the current riding-mode configuration. The scooter gets a 1.8 kW onboard charger, which can replenish the battery from 10 to 80 per cent in approximately 75 minutes.

Practical features and connected technology

The M1-S gets a 7-inch TFT instrument console with Wi-Fi, Bluetooth and integrated LTE connectivity. It supports smartphone integration and features such as app-based seat opening, key-fob starting, vehicle tracking and service updates. The system also supports over-the-air software updates.

Practicality is another focus. The scooter offers 26 litres of underseat storage, enough to accommodate a full-face helmet, along with two front storage compartments. One of these gets a USB-A charging socket, while the other can hold a 500 ml water bottle.

The equipment list also includes cruise control, tyre pressure monitoring and dual-channel ABS. It rides on 14-inch wheels, with telescopic front forks and twin adjustable rear shock absorbers. The M1-S has a kerb weight of 150 kg, an 800 mm seat height and 170 mm ground clearance.
