What to expect from the upcoming Mahindra Vision S?
The Vision S will be based on the new NU_IQ platform, which has been specifically designed to accommodate ICE, Hybrid, and EV powertrains in the future. The Vision S is likely to be positioned between the XUV 3XO and the Scorpio N.
The latest spy shots reveal that the SUV is nearing its production-ready stage. The camouflaged test car has a boxy design that looks inspired by the Land Rover Defender.
The visible exterior highlights include the oval headlamps, vertical slat grille, flared wheel arches, multi-spoke alloys, and a side-opening tailgate with mounted spare wheel. The taillights also look inspired by the Defender.
In size, it will be slightly bigger than 4 metres, and it will be a 5-seater SUV. On the inside, the production model will offer a vertical dashboard with vertical AC vents, a digital console on the top variants and a semi-digital Scorpio N-sourced console on the mid variants.
The list of features will be a lengthy one on it. We expect the range-topping models to offer wireless connectivity, voice commands assisted by AI, sunroof, ambient lights, wireless charging, drive modes, traction modes, and more. The top-spec variants are also likely to have a Level 2 ADAS safety suite.
Powering the new Vision S SUV are likely to be the XUV 3XO-sourced 1.2-litre TGDI petrol engine and the 1.5-litre turbo diesel engine. These engines will be offered with the manual and automatic gearbox options, which has been already confirmed in the previous spy shots.
The expected launch timeline of the Vision S is around late 2026 or early 2027. It will be positioned around Rs 11-20 lakh.
