The new Tiger 1200 draws a major upgrade from the outgoing model. For MY2027, the Tiger 1200 has now undergone a complete styling makeover with its new fascia that gets a projector LED headlight, a new windscreen with adjustability, a new fuel tank with revised shrouds, and new lights.

The 2027 Tiger 1200 will be available in two variants in India: GT Pro and Rally Explorer. The prices start at Rs 20.99 lakh to Rs 23.49 lakh (ex-showroom), respectively. Interestingly, Triumph is offering four variants of it in the global market.

Another big update is the 19-inch front and 17-inch rear wheel setup, which is now standard across the range. The GT Pro model features the alloy wheels, while the Rally Explorer variant comes with the cross-spoke tubeless rims with Metzeler tyres.

Powering the new model is the same 1,160cc inline-three liquid-cooled engine. It now makes 158 bhp, which is 8 bhp more than the previous model. Also, the peak torque is now available at lower RPMs, which improves rideability.

Technical updates to the engine include the redesigned cylinder head, pistons and exhaust, new exhaust valves, and a lighter intake. The 6-speed gearbox now gets shorter first three gear ratios for improved tractability. The crawl speed is now lowered to 6 km/h.

The hardware has also received big changes. It now gets a self-lowering suspension that reduces the seat height by 30 mm when the bike comes to a stop. The suspension setup includes 49 mm Showa USD forks and a monoshock, offering up to 200 mm of travel. The suspension offers complete adjustability for compression and rebound.

While both variants are technically the same, the Rally Explorer gets a bigger 30-litre fuel tank, while the GT Pro gets a smaller 20-litre fuel tank. The Tiger 1200 remains a heavy bike. The GT Pro is listed at 250 kg, while the Rally Explorer is listed at 268 kg.

The 2027 model brings with it a host of electronic upgrades. The first one is the Bosch radar system on both ends. It now offers autonomous safety assist systems like adaptive cruise control, group ride assist, emergency brake assist, forward collision warning, blind spot assist, and rear distance warning.

Customers will also appreciate the new 7-inch TFT screen that offers Android Auto and Apple CarPlay connectivity. The bike gets 7 ride modes as standard, while the Rally Explorer gets an additional “Off-Road Pro” mode. There is also a new USB-C charging port.

With that said, the new Tiger 1200 will go on sale from March 2027 in India. It will compete with the BMW R 1300 GS and the Ducati Multistrada V4.
