Triumph Motorcycles has introduced the Trident 660 Triple Tribute Edition, a racing-inspired special edition that pays homage to the brand’s legendary five-time Isle of Man TT winner, Slippery Sam. The motorcycle features a striking tri-color paint scheme, upgraded rider-focused technology, and a sport riding mode for enhanced performance.
Design and features
The Triple Tribute Edition sports a Sapphire Black body, accented with Cobalt Blue and Diablo Red highlights. The fuel tank features the ‘67’ race number graphic, a nod to the 750cc Trident that won five consecutive TT victories in the 1970s.
Additional styling elements include Diablo Red alloy wheels, a Sapphire Black flyscreen, and a sculpted aluminum belly pan, all of which come standard on this special edition.
Performance and technology
The Trident 660 Triple Tribute Edition retains its 660cc inline-three-cylinder liquid-cooled engine, producing 81 bhp at 10,250 rpm and 64 Nm of torque at 6,250 rpm. The engine is paired with a six-speed gearbox, featuring Triumph Shift Assist for clutchless gear changes.
Triumph has equipped the special edition with Optimized Cornering ABS, which adjusts braking parameters based on lean angle, and Optimized Traction Control, ensuring stability in varying conditions. The bike also features Cruise Control, a first for the Trident 660 lineup.
Riding modes and connectivity
The Triple Tribute Edition offers three riding modes—Road, Rain, and Sport—which can be accessed via the color TFT display. The system is compatible with My Triumph Connectivity, allowing riders to control media, navigation, and phone functions directly from the handlebar controls.
Market position and pricing
The Triumph Trident 660 Triple Tribute Edition is priced at $8,595 (approximately ₹7.26 lakh). If Triumph decides to bring this special edition to India, expect a slight premium over the standard Trident 660, which is currently priced at ₹8.12 lakh (ex-showroom).
