Mahindra is gearing up to refresh its flagship SUV, the XUV700, and the latest spy shots offer a clear look at the production-ready headlamps and alloy wheels. The test mules, seen with minimal camouflage, confirm that the facelift will bring subtle but meaningful design updates to keep the SUV competitive in the evolving D-segment.
Headlamp Design: Sharper and more sophisticated
The most noticeable change is the new LED projector headlamp cluster, which replaces the current reflector-based setup. The updated unit features distinct chambers for low and high beams, likely housing dual LED projectors. While the LED DRL signature isn’t clearly visible in the spy shots, it is expected to be sleeker and more refined than before.
The front bumper also appears to be reworked, and the grille now sports slanted vertical slats, giving the SUV a more aggressive stance.
Alloy Wheels: Two new designs spotted
Two different alloy wheel designs were seen on separate test mules, suggesting variant-specific styling. Both designs are more intricate than the current offerings, and Mahindra may offer 18-inch or even 19-inch wheels, aligning with rivals like the Tata Safari.
Interior and features: Triple-screen setup incoming
Inside, the facelifted XUV700 is expected to adopt a triple-screen dashboard layout, inspired by the Mahindra XUV.e9. This setup will likely include:
- A 12.3-inch digital instrument cluster
- A 12.3-inch infotainment screen
- A passenger-side display
Other expected upgrades include rear ventilated seats, an additional wireless charger, and improved seat cushioning.
Powertrain: No changes expected
The facelift will retain the existing engine options:
- 2.0L turbo-petrol (197 bhp, 380 Nm)
- 2.2L turbo-diesel (up to 182 bhp, 450 Nm)
Both engines will continue with 6-speed manual and automatic transmissions, along with FWD and AWD configurations.
