Key highlights
- Both Magnite engines, the 1.0L turbo (HR10) and 1.0L NA (BR10) are now E20-ready.
- Warranty remains valid for Magnite units sold after October 2024 running on E20.
- Nissan rolls out a segment-first 10-year warranty program for the Magnite.
Nissan India has confirmed that the Magnite is officially compatible with E20 fuel. Both the 1.0L HR10 turbo-petrol and the BR10 naturally aspirated petrol are cleared to run on the 20% ethanol blend without hiccups. The HR10 has been certified since August 2024, while the BR10 caught up in February 2025. This aligns neatly with the government’s ethanol roadmap and adds another green tick to Nissan’s sustainability playbook.
Warranty validity
Magnite owners can relax as switching to E20 won’t void the warranty. Nissan has extended full coverage for all new Magnite units sold after October 2024. Even existing owners with active warranty periods are safe. To sweeten the deal, Nissan has also introduced a 10-year warranty program, the first in the segment. Any E20-related concerns will be taken care of during routine service visits. Straight talk, no small print.
Why this move matters
E20 fuel is cleaner and helps reduce oil dependency, but it’s also known to be slightly more corrosive and can affect efficiency. Many brands have hesitated to back it fully, but Nissan’s open stance on certifying both engines and extending warranty support shows solid confidence in their engineering. It also sets a bar for rivals who’ve been slow to make similar commitments.
Our thoughts
E20 compatibility across both engines, warranty intact, and a decade-long coverage program? That’s Nissan saying, “Relax, we’ve tested it, and we’ll back you up.” The Magnite is one of the smartest picks in its class and this update makes it even harder to ignore.
