What is the DFSK C37 van?
The latest sighting of an unknown van comes from Chennai. The van seen in the spy shots is a DFSK product, called C37. DFSK or Dongfeng Sokon is a famous Chinese carmaker that supplies the C37 worldwide.
Speaking of the C37, it is a fairly large vehicle, usually loved for mass commuting and commercial operators for its spacious cabin and easy maintenance. The C37 is based on a ladder-frame chassis, which allows users to customise it to as many as 11 seating options.
Powering the C37 is a 1.5-litre, four-cylinder, 115 bhp and 148 Nm petrol engine. It is mated to a 5-speed transmission and comes equipped with a rear-wheel drivetrain as standard.
However, there has been no news regarding Dongfeng considering the Indian car market to launch its products, especially the C37. But the test mule has a Hosur temporary registration, which hints that the company has begun working to enter the Indian market, and the C37 van could be the first product.
If the C37 gets launched in India, it will compete with the Force Urbania, which already has a stronghold in the Indian commercial van market.
