Everything to know about the Volkswagen Tayron R-Line

The new Tayron R-Line is going to be Volkswagen India’s new flagship model. It shares its underpinnings with the new Skoda Kodiaq, which also made its Indian debut recently. The main difference between the two is the styling and the cabin layout.

The Tayron R-Line features the signature VW design with the sleek LED headlamps and grille at the front. The subtle looks are further accentuated by the piano black treatment on the lower front bumper, which is followed by the dual-tone machine-cut 19-inch wheels and a curvy body line. The rear design features the sharp LED lights and an illuminated VW logo.

On the inside, the Tayron features the VW’s latest design layout that offers a 10.25-inch digital console, a 15-inch floating infotainment screen, a spacious cabin with gloss black and aluminium highlights, leather upholstery, and three-row seats.

In terms of features, it comes loaded with ambient lighting, 12-way electrically adjustable front seats with ventilation, wireless Android Auto and Apple CarPlay, a dual-pane sunroof, electric tailgate, HUD with augmented reality, and Level 2 ADAS safety suite.

Powering the Tayron R-Line is the tried and tested 2.0-litre four-cylinder TSI engine that makes 201 bhp and 320 Nm. It is paired with a 7-speed DSG automatic gearbox and comes with AWD as standard.

Volkswagen will reveal the pricing of the Tayron R-Line next month. It is expected to be launched around Rs 45-50 lakh. Its main competition will include the Jeep Meridian and the Skoda Kodiaq.
