Audi India has officially opened bookings for the new Audi SQ8 in the country. The high performance luxury SUV will launch on March 17, 2026. Interested buyers can reserve the vehicle with a booking amount of INR 5,00,000.
Customers can place their orders online through the Audi India website or the myAudi Connect application. Audi says availability will be limited, so early bookings will matter for enthusiasts who want to get their hands on the SUV soon.
A serious V8 sits under the hood
The new SQ8 is not your average luxury SUV. It packs a 4.0 litre V8 TFSI petrol engine that produces 373 kW of power and 770 Nm of torque.
Those numbers translate into serious performance. The SQ8 can sprint from 0 to 100 km/h in just 4.1 seconds. Top speed is electronically limited to 250 kmph.
Audi pairs this engine with its quattro permanent all wheel drive system. The setup uses a self locking centre differential to distribute power between the front and rear axles. In simple terms, the system keeps the SUV planted even when the driver decides to have some fun.
Performance tech meets luxury
The SQ8 is not just about brute force. Audi has loaded it with hardware that improves both performance and comfort.
The SUV comes with adaptive air suspension sport. This allows the vehicle to adjust ride height and suspension stiffness depending on the driving conditions.
Audi has also equipped the SQ8 with all wheel steering. At low speeds, the rear wheels turn slightly in the opposite direction of the front wheels. This improves maneuverability in tight spaces. At higher speeds, the rear wheels turn in the same direction as the front wheels to enhance stability.
A performance flagship in the Q range
Within Audi’s SUV lineup, the SQ8 sits at the sporty end of the spectrum. It shares its design DNA with the Audi Q8 but adds the distinctive S performance treatment.
Expect sportier styling, unique wheels, aggressive bumpers and signature S badging. The cabin will also reflect the performance theme with premium materials, sporty seats and Audi’s latest digital interface.
The SUV will compete with other performance focused luxury machines such as the BMW X6 M Competition and the Porsche Cayenne GTS in India’s niche but growing high performance SUV segment.
Limited availability expected
Audi believes the SQ8 will appeal to buyers who want everyday practicality but refuse to give up performance. The brand has already seen strong demand for its Q range in India.
Opening bookings before the official launch allows enthusiasts to secure an early slot. Given the exclusivity of such vehicles, volumes will likely remain limited.
