- Tata Motors launches Intra EV Pickup at Rs 11.95 lakh
- Delivers 1,750 kg payload and 211 km certified range
- Expands India’s most comprehensive electric CV portfolio
Tata Motors has launched the all-new Intra EV Pickup. The pickup builds on a familiar platform but adds a serious dose of electric practicality. At Rs 11.95 lakh, it also undercuts expectations. That price point is aggressive for what it offers.
Built to earn, not just to impress
The Intra EV sticks to a simple idea. Make operators earn more. It offers a segment-leading payload of 1,750 kg. That directly translates to higher revenue per trip. And in this business, that is what matters.
The load body stretches up to 10 feet 2 inches, which makes it flexible across use cases. Think FMCG, e-commerce, cold chain, even LPG distribution. This is a proper workhorse. But now, it runs silent.
Performance that does not feel electric
At the heart of the pickup is a 72 kW motor producing 230 Nm of torque. Those numbers may not sound dramatic at first, but the delivery is instant. Tata claims it can handle full loads without feeling strained. That is important in real-world operations.
It also offers 23 percent gradeability. So steep inclines and loaded climbs should not be a problem. In simple terms, it behaves like a proper commercial vehicle. Just without the diesel noise and vibration.
Range and charging look practical
The Intra EV comes with a 28.2 kWh battery pack and delivers a certified range of 211 km. That figure sits in a sweet spot. It is enough for multiple intra-city runs in a day without constant charging anxiety.
Fast charging support means it can go from 10 to 80 percent in around 55 minutes using a CCS2 charger. That keeps downtime in check, which is critical for fleet operators.
Driver comfort finally gets attention
Tata has focused on reducing driver fatigue, which is often ignored in this segment. The Intra EV gets a walkthrough cabin, car-like ergonomics, and electric power-assisted steering.
The electric drivetrain also helps. Less noise, less vibration, and a calmer cabin environment. Over long hours, that makes a real difference.
Tech that actually adds value
The pickup comes equipped with Tata’s Fleet Edge system. This allows real-time tracking, vehicle health monitoring, and predictive maintenance. Fleet owners get better control over operations, and fewer surprises.
Tata is backing the new commercial EVs with over 25,000 charging points, 200 plus EV service centres, and dedicated financing solutions through banks and NBFCs.
The battery comes with a 6-year or 2 lakh km warranty, which should ease concerns around long-term ownership.
