Which new 7 Renault cars will launch in India?
In a recent event, Renault India announced its plans to introduce 7 new cars. These models will be based on the new RGEP and RGMP platforms, which are evolved versions of the CMF-A and CMF-B platforms.
Three out of these seven models are likely to be positioned below Rs 10 lakh. This new expansion plan is internally called “FutureReady India”. The RGEP, or Renault Group Entry Platform, will include the CNG, ICE, hybrid, and electric powertrain-equipped models.
The brand has already confirmed that it is working on a factory-fitted underbody CNG-equipped Triber that will be powered by the Kiger-sourced 1.0-litre turbo petrol engine. Moreover, a new B-SUV, called Bridger, will be launched next year with ICE and Hybrid engine options to compete with the upcoming Mahindra Vision S.
Meanwhile, the RGMP or Renault Group Modular Platform will be expanded with new models. One of these models is the new Duster, which is now available across India. The RGMP architecture allows 4WD capability, along with the HEV, Super Hybrid, and EV powertrains. Meanwhile, the Bridger EV will also be introduced by 2030, which is also based on the RGMP.
With that said, Kwid is likely to hit the end of the road soon. However, it could be replaced by an EV-only version by 2030. More details regarding these upcoming models are likely to be unveiled in the coming months.
