The new M440i is now available nationwide at Rs 1.06 crore (ex-showroom). It is based on the M340i’s 3.0-litre inline-six B58 turbo engine that offers 374 bhp and 500 Nm. Furthermore, it gets an all-wheel drive configuration as standard, while the power is transferred via an 8-speed AT gearbox. In terms of performance, it can sprint 0-100 km/h in 4.9 seconds and has a top speed of 250 km/h.
Speaking of the design, it features a soft-top convertible roof that can be operated up to 50 km/h. It takes 18 seconds to fold the roof top that is electronically operated. The front fascia of the car gets the iconic kidney grille with the M badge, the ‘snake eye’ LED headlights with dual projector lamps, wraparound LED taillights, and 19-inch M-spec dual-tone alloy wheels.
On the inside, the M440i boasts a similar layout to the M340i. It comes with a 2+2 seat configuration as standard. However, the rear seats are designed for short trips, while the focus of the cabin remains towards the front.
In terms of technology, the dashboard comes with a clutter-free design, featuring a connected screen panel that consists of a 14.9-inch infotainment screen and a 12.3-inch digital driver console. The M-spec three-spoke steering wheel comes with a flat-bottom design for a sporty driving feel. The car also gets features like a wireless charging pad, ADAS safety, a 360-degree camera, TPMS, and more.
The new M440i competes with the Mercedes-Benz CLE Cabriolet, which is priced at Rs 1.16 crore. Thus, buyers looking for soft-top convertibles now have a new option at a lower price.
