Tata Safari EV: What do we know so far?
The first-ever spy shot of the upcoming Safari Electric is here. Tata has been silently working on its first three-row electric SUV, which is destined to fight with the Mahindra XEV 9S upon launch.
While there is only a single spy shot that shows us the rear, the absence of a tailpipe, and the presence of the battery and motor components are clearly visible in it. The overall design and size look unchanged, and we can see the side steps as well – something that the Harrier EV misses out on.
Tata has not uttered a word about the Safari EV, but online rumours hint that it will share its platform with the Harrier EV. Hence, it will most likely get the same battery pack options and an AWD variant as well. Considering the bigger size, the claimed range of the Safari EV could likely be less than that of the Harrier EV.
Another interesting detail that we noticed is the new suspension setup at the rear. Unlike the Harrier EV, which uses a multi-link independent suspension, the Safari EV test mule appears to have a different setup. This further solidifies our assumption of Tata making the Safari EV more comfortable and luxury-focused.
Since Tata has not revealed any details regarding the Safari Electric launch, it will be pointless for us to assume its exact launch timeline. But, industry reports hint that the three-row electric Tata SUV might be introduced by the end of this year, and it could be priced well above Rs 30 lakh for its top variant.
