The brand is reported to reduce the prices by up to Rs 3.32 crore on the 720 Spider. Meanwhile, the 720S Coupe is likely to get a price cut of Rs 3 crore, while the GTS will undergo a price cut of Rs 2.32 crore.
With that said, the new price of the 720S Coupe will be Rs 4.94 crore, the 720 Spider will be priced at Rs 5.46 crore, and the GTS will be priced at Rs 3.83 crore, all ex-showroom, India. The India-UK FTA deal is cited as the reason behind this massive price drop. Not long ago, Range Rover also reduced the prices of its select models by a hefty amount.
As per the FTA deal, the imported cars from Britain will now undergo a tax of just 30 per cent, as opposed to 110 per cent earlier. However, only the pure petrol cars with a 3,000cc engine or above, and diesel cars with a 2,500cc engine or above, are eligible for this tax benefit scheme. Meanwhile, the McLaren Artura, which happens to fall in the hybrid category, will not be able to take advantage of the FTA deal.
