BMW F 450 GS bookings halted due to popularity?
The F 450 GS seems to have become popular among the upcoming owners and motorcycle enthusiasts in India even before it hit the roads. BMW is reportedly receiving hundreds of bookings, which has exceeded the production capacity; as a result, leading to long waiting periods.
Online reports hint that select dealerships in tier-1 cities like Mumbai and Bengaluru have received so many bookings that the waiting period is now touching a year. It is interesting as the bike has been priced sharply in India, and it is yet to be tested thoroughly by customers in the Indian riding conditions that challenge brilliantly engineered bikes as well.
Meanwhile, for the upcoming bookings, BMW is expected to reopen the bookings by September or October this year. Currently, the average waiting period of the F 450 GS is reported to be 6-8 months nationwide.
The F 450 GS is priced at Rs 4.70-5.30 lakh (ex-showroom) in India. It uses a brand new 450cc parallel-twin liquid-cooled engine that makes 48.67 bhp. It is the most affordable GS model on sale globally.
