Upcoming Tata Sierra EV confirmed to get an all-wheel drive option

Key highlights

  • Tata Sierra EV new teaser released
  • QWD all-wheel drive dual-motor option confirmed
  • The Sierra Electric will launch on June 30

The upcoming launch of the Sierra EV is confirmed for June 30, 2026. Meanwhile, the brand has released a new teaser trailer of the upcoming electric SUV, confirming the QWD, aka all-wheel drive option.

The trailer video shows the Sierra EV running across the road and a desert trail, while one of the frames focuses on its QWD badge. Mind you, it is widely assumed that the Sierra EV will get the same battery specifications as the Harrier EV, and the presence of the QWD option further clarifies it.

If so, we expect that it will be offered with a 65 kWh and a 75 kWh battery option. While most of its variants will be front-wheel drive, customers will also get the range-topping versions with the QWD.

In terms of visual changes, the Sierra EV will feature a redesigned front fascia. The previous teaser has already showcased a closed grille, a new bumper, and a new connected LED daytime running light setup. Meanwhile, the rear bumper and the alloy wheels have been updated on it. The Sierra EV is also likely to get exclusive colour options.

It will offer a similar layout of the cabin as the ICE Sierra, save for the triple-screen display, and a new cabin theme. Some of the expected features on it will include the wireless charging, panoramic sunroof, electric seats with ventilation, passenger entertainment screen, a dual-zone climate control, electric tailgate, e-parking brake, and Level 2 ADAS safety features.

Tata will position the Sierra EV between the Curvv EV and the Harrier EV. Hence, we expect it to be priced around Rs 18-25 lakh.
