Key highlights
- Upcoming Skoda Slavia facelift spied
- Interior details leaked
- It is expected to debut later this year
While Skoda India’s next scheduled launch is the Kodiaq RS, the brand is working on the new, updated Slavia facelift, which has been spotted once again recently. The latest spy images have revealed the interior design to a certain extent, giving us an idea of what to expect.
Speaking of the exterior first, the new facelifted Slavia will get a redesigned front and rear styling. The front is expected to get the new segmented LED daytime running lights embedded into a new grille, complemented by the new LED projector headlamps. The bumper will also undergo a redesign with a new lower grille and new air dams.
The side profile of the test car looks almost identical to the current model, save for the new alloy wheel design. Meanwhile, the rear styling is expected to receive a set of new LED taillights, a new rear bumper, and revised badges.
However, the interior spy image shows a similar dashboard as the current model, albeit it gets a bigger floating infotainment screen, which seems to be carried over from the new Kushaq facelift. The instrument console is also likely to get revamped by a similar update as we saw on the Kushaq facelift.
While this single spy image is not enough to judge the changes, online rumours suggest that the Slavia facelift will get new features like massaging seats, voice commands, new ambient lights, new cabin theme, and more.
Since it is going to be a mid-life update, the engine specifications on the Slavia facelift will remain unchanged. However, we do believe that the 6-AT gearbox on the 1.0 TSI engine option will be replaced by the new 8-AT gearbox.
The updated Slavia facelift could debut sometime later this year. It will be positioned in the similar ballpark as the current model. Following the Slavia facelift will be the Volkswagen Virtus facelift, which is also being tested alongside it.
