- Front design of the Nissan Tekton revealed
- The new mid-size SUV will be revealed on July 9 in India
- It is essentially a badge-engineered Renault Duster
Nissan is slowly moving towards the launch timeline of its new mid-size SUV in India. With the latest teaser out now, the front profile of the upcoming Tekton SUV has been revealed completely. The Tekton will share its underpinnings and engine specifications with the new-gen Renault Duster, it will get a new exterior and interior design, and different tuning of the suspension and steering wheel.
Speaking of the front design, the Tekton does look like a “mini Patrol”. The new Patrol Y63 is the company’s flagship product, which is popular in global markets like the Middle East. The Tekton features a similar setup of LED lights that includes the inverted L-shaped daytime running lights connected via an LED light band on the top of the front grille.
Interestingly, the front grille gets a red band, which is also inspired by the Patrol SUV. The front bumper has a streamlined design as the lower grille merges neatly into it. The lower part of the bumper gets the big silver highlights, while the bonnet features a U-shaped scoop for aerodynamic stability and efficient performance.
The rest of the design is yet to be revealed, but we can safely assume that it will get the new alloys, a new set of connected LED taillights, a new rear bumper, and exclusive colours, as compared to its sibling, the Renault Duster. Meanwhile, the dimensions and size of the Tekton will be identical to the Duster.
On the inside, we expect it to feature fewer changes, save for a new cabin theme, new graphics for the infotainment and digital driver console, and Nissan badging. The Tekton will offer features like ADAS, panoramic sunroof, wireless charging, and more.
While Nissan will use the same engine specifications as the Duster, on the Tekton, the steering feedback and the suspension settings will be fiddled with to make it a bit more plush and mature. Nissan will reveal the new Tekton on July 9 in India, and we expect it to be positioned in the same ballpark as the Renault Duster.
