- 2027 KTM 790 Duke unveiled
- Gets a fresh design, new TFT screen, revised ergonomics
- It is 2 kg lighter than the outgoing version
KTM has finally unveiled the heavily updated 2027 Duke 790 naked sportsbike. The latest update has not only changed how it looks, but it has also made it more desirable than ever before.
What is new on the 2027 KTM 790 Duke?
The first and the most easily noticeable update is the all-new design that looks inspired by the flagship 1390 Duke sports bike. It now looks much sharper and more aggressive than the previous version. The new fang-like LED daytime running lights, coupled with the new projector LED headlamp, new fuel tank shrouds, and a new upswept exhaust that merges into the LED indicators that also embed the taillights, make it stand out from the crowd.
However, the new bodywork hides another big change. It now gets the new sub-frame that has been finished in Matte Black colour. Although it still rides on the Chromium Molybdenum steel frame. The new bike rides on the adjustable front USD forks and a rear monoshock. The front suspension offers compression and rebound adjustability, while the rear offers preload and rebound adjustability.
Powering the new bike is the 799cc parallel-twin liquid-cooled motor, called LC8c, which makes 105 bhp and 87 Nm. It is paired to a 6-speed gearbox and gets a slipper clutch and bi-directional quickshifter. The braking duties are covered by the twin 300 mm discs at the front and a 240 mm disc at the rear. It uses WP brake calipers and WP master cylinders.
KTM engineers have also reworked the rider’s traingle. The bike now boasts rear set footpegs and a redesigned seat, along with a repositioned handlebar, all together giving it a more committed riding posture than before. Meanwhile, it now tips 185 kg, which is 2 kg lighter than the previous model. So, the performance is definitely going to be more aggressive and promising on this one.
Moreover, it gets a new TFT coloured console with a six-axis IMU that enables features like the lean-sensitive ABS, wheelie control, cruise control, ride modes, traction control modes, and more. KTM is yet to announce its prices, but the bike is soon going to be available in the international market.
Meanwhile, we are unsure whether KTM will bring the new 790 Duke to India or not.
