Norton Atlas ADV bike to be launched later this year: Confirmed

Key highlights

  • Norton Atlas ADV production commenced
  • India launch towards the end of this year
  • Global launch scheduled for next month

Norton Motorcycles has announced that it will launch the Atlas model in India towards the end of this year. The announcement was made at the commencement of the production of the Atlas as the first production unit rolled off the production line.

Norton is manufacturing the new Atlas dual-sport adventure bike at the Hosur-based TVS production facility alongside the BMW F 450 GS, which also happens to be its rival to an extent. Norton will launch the Atlas in the European market next month, and later it will be followed by the Indian market launch. We suspect that the Indian market launch will take place around the festive season later this year.

The Atlas is a dual-sport adventure-touring motorcycle that will be positioned in the middleweight segment. It will be powered by a 585cc parallel-twin liquid-cooled engine that will deliver 69 bhp and 57.5 Nm paired with a 6-speed transmission.

The design of the Atlas boasts a premium look with the U-shaped daytime running LED light, dual-pod projector headlights, a sculpted fuel tank that has shrouds extending to the front headlight cowl, a split seat setup with mid-controls for a comfortable riding experience, and an upswept exhaust with a tail-mounted luggage carrier plate.

Norton has equipped the Atlas with modern features that include the TFT console, Bluetooth connectivity, a six-axis IMU, cruise control, lean-sensitive ABS, ride modes, traction modes, and more. Since it will be a mid-segment motorcycle, we believe that Norton will priced it around Rs 5.5-6 lakh in India.
