- Yamaha NMax 155 maxi scooter patented
- Based on the Yamaha Aerox 155
- India launch possible in the coming months
Yamaha has patented the design of the NMax 155 maxi scooter in India. The NMax 155 is based on the Aerox 155, but it features a different bodywork that looks like a crossover between a motorcycle and a scooter.
The front apron of the NMax 155 features a sharp LED headlight design along with a big windscreen and a chunky bodywork. The front mudguard is also packed with curves and creases to match the overall muscular outlook of the maxi scooter.
Following the typical maxi scooter design philosophy, the NMax 155 gets a central tunnel dividing the legroom for the rider. A big sloping seat with high-set pillion footrests and an upright tail design, an upswept exhaust, and alloy wheels boast the overall profile of the NMax 155.
Globally, the NMax 155 is already on sale, and it comes with features like a dual-channel ABS, TFT coloured console, Bluetooth connectivity, keyless ignition, start/stop system, and more. However, the big body panels have reduced its underseat storage space to 25 litres, while the fuel tank is a puny 5.5 litres.
The NMax gets the same 155cc liquid-cooled engine as the Aerox 155. However, it is 9 kg heavier than the Aerox, and it still produces the same 14.75 bhp and 13.9 Nm. With that said, it remains to be seen whether Yamaha holds actual plans to launch the NMax 155 scooter in India, or if it is only to secure the design and nameplate.
