The countdown to Bajaj’s next big Pulsar launch has almost ended. Ahead of its official debut on August 12, the next-generation Pulsar 150 has started arriving at dealerships, giving us our clearest look yet at the motorcycle that will celebrate the Pulsar brand’s 25-year journey.
From the images, it is clear that Bajaj has chosen evolution over revolution. The new bike retains the familiar Pulsar stance, but almost every panel at the front has been reworked to give the motorcycle a sharper and more modern appearance.
Familiar silhouette, fresh face
The biggest visual update is the new LED headlamp, which replaces the older halogen setup. It is flanked by LED turn indicators, while the revised headlamp cowl gives the bike a cleaner and more aggressive look. New graphics on the fuel tank and side panels further distinguish it from the outgoing model.
Thankfully, Bajaj hasn’t tried to reinvent the Pulsar’s identity. The sculpted fuel tank, upright riding position and overall proportions remain familiar, which should appeal to long-time Pulsar fans.
The motorcycle continues to ride on alloy wheels and retains the single-piece seat and side-slung exhaust, suggesting the focus has been on modernising the design rather than completely redesigning the motorcycle.
Proven engine continues
The new Pulsar 150 is expected to continue with the 149.5 cc air-cooled, single-cylinder engine, producing 13.8 bhp and 13.4 Nm. The engine will continue to be paired with a 5-speed gearbox.
While the performance figures remain unchanged, the refreshed styling should help the motorcycle stay competitive in a segment where buyers are increasingly expecting LED lighting and more contemporary designs.
Pricing is expected to see a modest increase over the outgoing model, reflecting the cosmetic upgrades and new lighting package.
With the official unveiling just days away, the updated Pulsar 150 looks set to carry one of India’s most iconic motorcycle nameplates into its next chapter. The formula remains familiar, but the sharper styling should help keep the Pulsar relevant in an increasingly crowded 150cc motorcycle segment.
