Honda is preparing to give the Elevate its first major update, with the facelift expected to launch in India sometime in October. The SUV has already been spotted testing in India, suggesting that the updated model is nearing its market introduction.
The facelift is expected to bring subtle exterior revisions rather than a complete redesign. Changes could include revised LED headlamps, a reworked grille and new bumpers. The SUV may also get a fresh set of 17-inch alloy wheels. At the rear, earlier test mules have hinted at revised tail-lamp graphics.
More features for the cabin
The cabin is expected to retain the overall dashboard layout, but Honda could introduce a new interior colour scheme and revised seat upholstery. More importantly, the Elevate could address some of its feature gaps with additions such as a panoramic sunroof, dual-zone automatic climate control and ventilated front seats. An updated ADAS package and a 360-degree camera have also been reported as possible additions to the facelift.
These upgrades would make the Elevate better equipped to take on increasingly feature-rich rivals in the midsize SUV segment.
Same petrol engine expected
Unlike the cosmetic and equipment changes, the powertrain is expected to remain unchanged. The facelifted Elevate will continue with Honda’s 1.5-litre, four-cylinder naturally aspirated petrol engine, producing 119 hp and 145 Nm.
The engine is expected to retain its six-speed manual and CVT transmission options. There is currently no indication that Honda will introduce a hybrid powertrain with this update.
The Elevate has traditionally focused on a simple petrol powertrain and straightforward SUV package. The facelift therefore appears to be aimed primarily at improving its design and equipment levels rather than changing its fundamental character.
