Kawasaki has updated the Ninja ZX-6R for 2027 in international markets with two new colour schemes. The changes are purely cosmetic, with the middleweight supersport retaining its existing mechanical package.
The 2027 Ninja ZX-6R is available in three colours overseas. Alongside the familiar Lime Green and Blue combination, Kawasaki has introduced Metallic Matte Carbon Gray with contrasting green wheels and green highlights on the bodywork. The second new option gets a predominantly black finish with grey accents and black wheels, giving the motorcycle a more understated appearance.
There are no mechanical changes for the new model year. The ZX-6R continues with its 636 cc, liquid-cooled, inline-four engine, which produces 124 hp and 69 Nm. The engine is paired with a six-speed gearbox.
The motorcycle also retains its existing electronics package, including selectable power modes, traction control, Kawasaki’s intelligent braking system and a quickshifter. The Indian-spec motorcycle gets a 4.3-inch colour TFT display with smartphone connectivity and integrated riding modes.
In India, Kawasaki currently sells the Ninja ZX-6R in a single Lime Green colour. The motorcycle is priced at Rs 12.49 lakh, ex-showroom, and is offered as a single-seat model.
There is currently no confirmation on whether the new 2027 colour options will be introduced in India. If Kawasaki does bring them here, the update is likely to remain limited to the colour palette, with no corresponding performance upgrade.
Final thoughts
The ZX-6R does not really need more performance to stay interesting. Its 636 cc four-cylinder engine already gives it a distinctive character in the middleweight supersport segment. These new colours simply give buyers overseas more ways to show it off. For Indian buyers, the bigger question is whether Kawasaki will finally add some colour variety to the range.
