JSW Motors is all set to launch its first car in the Indian market in the coming months. The brand will launch a badge-engineered Jetour T2 in India, which will be called ‘Combat’. A recent online report has revealed that the upcoming Combat SUV will feature the same powertrain and styling cues as the global-spec T2 PHEV.

As per the available details so far, we know that JSW Motors’ new car manufacturing venture will be heavily dependent on Chery Automobile. The brand will launch the Chery Jetour T2 SUV in India as its first product, with a new ‘Combat’ badge.
Apart from the badge engineering, JSW’s new JSW’s T2 PHEV will also feature slight updates to its styling, which will be limited to the lights, bumpers, grille, and colours. Overall, the Combat SUV will look identical to the Jetour T2, boasting an upright, boxy stance with a Defender-like design, big greenhouse, chunky 20-inch tyres, a tailgate-mounted spare wheel, functional roof rails, and high ground clearance.
On the inside, it will offer a five-seater configuration with a high seating position, a four-spoke steering wheel, a large 15.6-inch central infotainment screen, a 10.6-inch digital driver cockpit, voice commands, wireless charging, panoramic sunroof, Level 2 ADAS, electric seat adjustment, seat ventilation, a three-zone climate control, etc.
Powering the JSW Combat SUV will be a 1.5-litre turbo petrol engine paired with an 18.4 kWh battery. The global spec model offers 360 bhp and 610 Nm, and it comes with AWD and FWD. We believe that the Indian-spec model will get only FWD, and its cumulative range will be more than 1,200 km. It also delivers 90 km of pure EV range, while 20-80 percent charging takes 27 minutes via a 50kW DC charger.
The Combat SUV will be launched around Diwali 2026, and it is suspected to be priced around Rs 35-40 lakh.
