BYD India has introduced a limited-run Festive Edition of the Sealion 7 electric SUV, adding a new cabin colour combination to its premium electric offering. Priced at Rs 50.60 lakh (ex-showroom), the special edition is based on the Sealion 7 Premium and will be available in just 150 units across India.
The update is primarily cosmetic. There are no announced changes to the battery, performance, range or equipment, making the new interior the key reason to consider this edition over the standard Premium variant.
New Tan and Black interior is the main change
The BYD Sealion 7 Festive Edition gets an exclusive Tan and Black interior, giving the cabin a different appearance from the regular model. The rest of the package remains unchanged, including the 15.6-inch rotating touchscreen, quilted Nappa leather seats, panoramic glass roof with an electric sunshade and head-up display. Safety equipment includes 11 airbags. The Sealion 7 has also received a five-star safety rating from Euro NCAP.
Battery, range and performance remain unchanged
The Festive Edition uses the same 82.56 kWh Blade Battery as the Premium variant. BYD’s Cell-to-Body (CTB) technology integrates the battery into the vehicle’s structure, while Intelligence Torque Adaption Control (iTAC) is designed to optimise torque delivery.
The electric SUV produces 230 kW (around 313 PS) and 380 Nm of torque. BYD claims a 0-100 km/h acceleration time of 6.7 seconds and a range of 567 km on the NEDC test cycle. Actual driving range will depend on factors such as speed, traffic and driving conditions.
How much more does it cost?
The Sealion 7 Festive Edition is priced at Rs 50.60 lakh, compared with Rs 49.90 lakh for the regular Premium variant. That translates to a Rs 70,000 premium for the exclusive interior and limited-edition status.
