The Honda CBR1000RR-R Fireblade SP has had an interesting few months in India. It returned in September 2025 at Rs 28.99 lakh. Then it quietly disappeared from Honda’s website just months later, alongside the Rebel 500. Now it is back.
At Rs 33.50 lakh, the Fireblade SP is Rs 4.51 lakh more expensive than it was less than a year ago. No new features. No mechanical updates. Just a significantly revised price tag.
What You Get
The Fireblade SP is Honda’s flagship superbike, built with heavy input from Honda Racing Corporation and loaded with MotoGP-derived hardware.
The engine is a 999cc liquid-cooled inline-four producing 217.5 hp at 14,000 rpm and 113 Nm at 12,000 rpm. It is paired with a 6-speed gearbox and a bi-directional quickshifter. An Akrapovic titanium exhaust is standard fit.
Suspension is handled by an Ohlins Smart EC 3.0 NPX USD fork and an Ohlins TTX36 rear monoshock, both electronically adjustable. Braking is done by Brembo Stylema R calipers on twin 330mm front discs and a 220mm rear disc. The electronics package is built around a six-axis IMU and includes traction control, wheelie control, engine brake control, and launch control, all managed through a 5-inch TFT display.
The frame is a twin-spar aluminium diamond unit with a long swingarm derived from Honda’s RC213V-S MotoGP bike. This is as close to a MotoGP-derived road bike as you can buy from Honda.
How It Compares
|
Model |
Price (Ex-Showroom) |
|
Kawasaki Ninja ZX-10R |
Rs 20.79 lakh |
|
BMW S 1000 RR |
Rs 23.25 lakh onwards |
|
Honda CBR1000RR-R Fireblade SP |
Rs 33.50 lakh |
|
Ducati Panigale V4 S |
Rs 39 lakh |
The Fireblade SP now sits in a price bracket of its own. It is considerably more expensive than the ZX-10R and the BMW S 1000 RR, and within striking distance of the Ducati Panigale V4 S. That is a tough position to defend without a specification update.
For buyers who want Honda’s finest and nothing else, the hardware remains exceptional. But the price hike without any upgrades is hard to ignore.
