Stellantis has revealed a new special edition Jeep Meridian in India, called the 85th Anniversary Edition. This new version marks 85 years of Jeep globally.
Jeep Meridian 85th Anniversary Edition: All details
The new Meridian 85th Anniversary Edition is based on the Overland trim of the standard model. The primary difference between the two models are the optional accessories and visual changes along with more features. Interestingly, the 85th Anniversary Edition model is priced similarly to the standard Overland trim, i.e. Rs 36.05 lakh (ex-showroom).
Limited to only 85 units, the new special edition Meridian features the 85th Anniversary decals on the front doors and special wheel cap design along with gloss finish on the alloy wheels. Customers can choose from five exterior colours: Pearl White, Techno Metallic Green, Velvet Red, Grigio Megnesio, and Brilliant Black.
On the inside, Jeep has added a new golden trim to the 85th Anniversary Edition. Along the new trim, it also features the Jeep’s trademark Cara AI assistant, which debuted in India on the Citroen Basalt, an another Stellantis product. This voice assistant can understand up to 52 languages, covering almost all regional Indian languages.
Users can control the infotainment, know about weather, set navigation, and select multiple vehicle controls by using it. Additionally, the Cara AI assistant has also been added to the Limited (O) variant for Rs 5,000 more, which takes its price to Rs 30.45 lakh (ex-showroom).
Moving on, the special edition model also comes with a new ambient lighting package. Moreover, customers can opt for the 85th Anniversary AXS packages, which includes the optional accessories like the special edition floor mats, anniversary decal kits, and an illuminated panoramic sunroof.
Powering the Meridian 85th Anniversary Edition is the same 2.0-litre turbo diesel engine that makes 170 bhp and 350 Nm. It comes paired with an 8-speed automatic gearbox and the Jeep’s 4WD system is also offered as an additional option.
The bookings for the 85th Anniversary Edition Meridian are now open, and deliveries are expected to commence shortly. The Meridian rivals the likes of the Toyota Fortuner, Skoda Kodiaq, and Volkswagen Tayron.
