Honda CB250SS Scrambler concept revealed with 249 cc engine and retro styling

Key highlights

  • Honda has unveiled the CB250SS Scrambler Concept at the CIMA Motorcycle Trade Show in Chongqing, China.
  • The concept features a 249 cc liquid-cooled, single-cylinder engine, a circular TFT display and Honda RoadSync connectivity.
  • Production plans, pricing and availability outside China remain unconfirmed, including a possible India launch.

Honda has unveiled the CB250SS Scrambler Concept, a neo-retro motorcycle that combines classic styling with modern equipment. It features a round headlamp, a sculpted fuel tank, block-pattern tyres and a brown ribbed seat.

The motorcycle made its debut at the CIMA Motorcycle Trade Show in Chongqing, China. While its scrambler styling gives it a rugged appearance, its hardware suggests that it is primarily designed for road use rather than serious off-roading.

Neo-retro styling with modern details

The CB250SS features a round headlamp with four LED projector units, a protective grille and a small flyscreen. The white fuel tank gets red graphics, while matching accents appear on the front and rear mudguards.

Other details include gold-finished upside-down front forks, black side panels, an upswept exhaust and an under-engine bash plate. The brown ribbed seat adds to its retro appeal.

The motorcycle uses 17-inch alloy wheels with block-pattern tyres. However, its relatively road-oriented layout suggests that it is better suited to paved roads and occasional rough surfaces than demanding off-road trails.

Performance figures remain unconfirmed

The CB250SS uses a 249 cc liquid-cooled, single-cylinder engine. Honda has not disclosed its power and torque figures, so its performance cannot yet be compared directly with other quarter-litre motorcycles.

The concept also gets a circular TFT instrument cluster with second-generation Honda RoadSync connectivity and navigation support. An assist-and-slipper clutch is another reported feature, although the final production specifications remain unknown.

Will the Honda CB250SS come to India?

For now, Honda has not confirmed a production timeline, pricing or availability outside China. The motorcycle’s unveiling does not necessarily indicate that it will reach other markets, and Indian buyers will have to wait for an official announcement.
