India Kawasaki Motors has launched the MY27 Versys 1100 in India at Rs 13.89 lakh (ex-showroom). The adventure-tourer gets an updated engine, revised gearing, upgraded electronics and additional convenience features aimed at making it a more capable long-distance motorcycle.
Bigger engine and revised gearing
The Versys 1100 is powered by a 1,099 cc liquid-cooled, four-cylinder DOHC engine producing 135 PS at 9,000 rpm and 112 Nm at 7,600 rpm. It is paired with a six-speed gearbox.
Kawasaki has revised the engine components and gearing, with longer fifth and sixth gears and a lower rev limit. The changes are claimed to improve both power delivery and fuel economy, particularly by enhancing torque in the low-to-mid rev range.
The motorcycle continues with an aluminium twin-tube frame and long-travel suspension. Up front, it gets 43 mm inverted forks with rebound damping and spring preload adjustment, while the rear uses a gas-charged Horizontal Backlink shock with rebound damping and remote spring preload adjustment.
Loaded with touring equipment
The Versys 1100 gets 150 mm of front and 152 mm of rear wheel travel, while braking is handled by 310 mm front discs with four-piston radial monobloc callipers and a 260 mm rear disc. Kawasaki’s KIBS and KCMF systems are also part of the electronics package.
Electronics include three-mode Kawasaki Traction Control, Full and Low Power modes, electronic cruise control and an IMU-based rider aid package. The LCD instrument cluster displays information including fuel consumption, remaining range, bank angle and IMU status.
The Kawasaki Quick Shifter is now capable of operating from 1,500 rpm, down from 2,500 rpm, although it is available as an accessory rather than standard equipment.
For touring convenience, the motorcycle gets a standard handlebar-mounted USB Type-C port, 12V DC socket and a tool-free adjustable windscreen with approximately 65 mm of adjustment.
Price and availability
The MY27 Versys 1100 is offered in Metallic Matte Graphene Steel Gray/Metallic Diablo Black. Deliveries are scheduled to begin from mid-September 2026.
