Maruti Suzuki recently announced its third price hike for 2026 in September. The brand has now revealed that the Swift hatchback has become Rs 5,000 more expensive across all variants as part of the latest price hike.
The new price hike for the Swift will be applicable from September 1, 2026, nationwide. The Swift now costs from Rs 5.84 lakh to Rs 8.89 lakh (ex-showroom), depending on the powertrain and trim option.
Mind you, the Swift remains one of the top-selling cars of Maruti in India. It is positioned below the Baleno hatchback, and it offers two engine options that include a 1.2-litre three-cylinder Z12E petrol engine making 83 bhp, and a 1.2-litre CNG powertrain based on the former engine. The petrol engine option comes paired with a 5-speed manual and an AMT, while the CNG option only gets the 5-speed manual transmission.
The range-topping variants of the Swift get hi-tech features like projector LED headlights, wireless Android Auto and Apple CarPlay, six airbags, hill-hold assist, hill-descent assist, wireless charging, cruise control, auto-dimming interior rear-view mirror, etc.
In other news, Maruti Suzuki has begun working on the new WagonR facelift. The upcoming hatchback was recently spotted testing with camouflage in Delhi-NCR. The big update that the new WagonR is likely to receive is the 1.2-litre Z12E petrol engine from the Swift, which is expected to replace the current 1.2-litre K-series engine offered on the top variants of the WagonR.
Additionally, online reports hint that Maruti could add an underbody CNG tank on the new WagonR facelift. This will eliminate the unusable boot space of the current WagonR CNG, thus adding practicality for family and commercial use. The new WagonR facelift is likely to be launched next year.
