Alongside the launch of the new Tekton, Nissan also revealed the critical details regarding its safety features. The brand has revealed that the SUV scored a 5-star rating in the Bharat NCAP crash test.
Nissan Tekton BNCAP crash test result details
As per the official details released by BNCAP and Nissan, the new Tekton SUV has managed to score 30.49 points out of 32 points in the Adult Occupant Protection. Meanwhile, it received 14.49 points out of 16 in the frontal offset deformable barrier crash test and 16 points out of 16 in the side movable deformable barrier crash test.
Bharat NCAP has tested multiple variants of the Tekton, including the 1.0-litre and 1.3-litre powertrain options. Additionally, the crash test result states that the Tekton scored 45 points out of 49 in Child Occupant Protection, while it also cleared the side pole impact test.
Furthermore, it scored 24/24 points in the CRS dynamic score, 12/12 points in the CRS installation score, and 9/13 points in the vehicle assessment test. With that said, the overall Bharat NCAP score for the Tekton is 5-star, which makes it one of the safest SUVs in India currently.
The new Tekton is essentially a rebadged version of the Renault Duster. With its strong chassis, it also gets a long list of safety features like six airbags, four disc brakes, and Level 2 ADAS features: adaptive cruise control, lane keep assist, lane change assist, a 360-degree camera, pedestrian collision avoidance, auto emergency braking, traffic sign recognition, rear-cross traffic alert, and more.
Nissan is offering Tekton from a starting price of Rs 10.49 lakh, which goes up to Rs 18.49 lakh for the top-spec variant, all prices ex-showroom. Bookings are now open across India, and Nissan will start delivering the first batch of the Tekton SUV from July 20, 2026.
