Tata Motors is all set to launch its upcoming electric SUV in India. The brand has released the official teaser of the upcoming Sierra EV, showing the front fascia and a new black exterior colour.
The Sierra EV will be based on Tata’s latest acti.ev+ platform. The battery options are likely to be shared with the Harrier EV, which will possibly include the 65 kWh and the 75 kWh options. We believe that the power, torque, and ARAI-claimed range of the Sierra EV will be in the same ballpark as the Harrier EV.
The front fascia, which is visible in the teaser, has been reworked. The electric Sierra gets a connecting LED light band on the top of the front fascia, while a closed grille and repositioned headlamps make way for improved aerodynamics. The lower portion of the front bumper still looks similar to its ICE version.
We believe that the Sierra EV will follow a similar design strategy to other Tata electric cars. This means that its side profile will most likely get the new dual-tone alloys, while the rear design will be unaltered, save for the new badges.
On the inside, it will feature a light-themed cabin with features like the triple screen dashboard that will contain the dual 12.3-inch screens for the infotainment and the passenger-side entertainment, respectively, and a 10.25-inch digital driver console. Other features are likely to include wireless charging, dual-zone climate control, panoramic sunroof, and Level 2 ADAS safety.
The new Sierra.ev is likely to be priced around Rs 18-25 lakh. It will compete with the Mahindra BE 6, Maruti e Vitara, Toyota Ebella, and the Hyundai Creta Electric.
