Royal Enfield has officially commenced the deliveries of its first-ever all-electric motorcycle. The first batch of the Flying Flea C6 electric bike was delivered in Bengaluru, which also happens to be the epicentre of the electric vehicle revolution in India.
Speaking of the motorcycle, the Flying Flea C6 is based on an all-new platform. The bike is powered by a 3.91 kWh lithium-ion battery pack that offers an IDC-claimed range of 154 km on a full charge. The bike is rated to deliver 20.6 bhp at 3,600 rpm, and 60 Nm.
The design of the Flying Flea C6 is inspired from the first Flying Flea model that was made by the British-owned Royal Enfield firm. The C6 packs the neo-retro design elements, which includes the oval LED headlamp, forged aluminium Girder front forks, 17-inch alloy wheels, a single seat with floating-type design, and a slim body with a lightweight chassis of just 124 kg. The lightweight offers a quick performance, and the Flying Flea C6 can do up to 115 km/h of top speed.
With all the retro design elements, the C6 is a modern electric two-wheeler underneath its flesh. It gets the smart features like the ride modes, traction modes, lean-sensing ABS, a dual-channel ABS, tip-over alert, live location sharing, a round touchscreen console, and more.
The Flying Flea C6 is a costly motorcycle as it is positioned at Rs 2.79 lakh (ex-showroom) in Bengaluru. However, Royal Enfield also offers the Battery-as-a-Service rental subscription option, which lowers its upfront purchase price to Rs 1.99 lakh (ex-showroom).
