If you missed out on buying the Octavia RS previously, Skoda India has another chance for you. The brand has commenced reservations for only 50 units of the Octavia RS, which will be relaunched in India soon.
The decision to return the Octavia RS to the Indian market comes after Skoda witnessed a great response to the RS models. First, the Octavia RS was sold out within minutes, and then the Kodiaq RS, which was recently introduced, was sold out within 6 minutes this year.
With that said, the Octavia RS will not come cheap, as it will be a CBU model. This means that it could be priced above Rs 50 lakh, citing the heavy import duties.
What makes the Skoda Octavia RS special?
The Octavia RS is a sporty edition based on the standard Octavia. However, the brand has made tasteful upgrades to it, including a more powerful engine and features that enhance its performance substantially.
For starters, it features a more powerful version of the 2.0 TSI engine, which develops 265 bhp and 370 Nm. While it is a FWD car, it can still do 0-100 km/h in just 6.4 seconds and has a top speed of 250 km/h.
Moreover, it comes with bigger brakes, RS-spec calipers, RS alloys with low-profile tyres, the Dynamic Chassis Control system, Progressive Dynamic Steering, and more features that enhance its performance.
On the outside, it features RS-spec bumpers, RS-spec exterior colours, an RS grille, RS badging, and special exterior colours. Meanwhile, the interior design features a black-and-red theme with RS badges on the steering wheel and seats. The contrasting red stitching and race pedals further elevate its sporty appeal.
With that said, only 50 units will be sold as part of Skoda’s import program, which also includes the Superb diesel sedan launch.
