Tata Motors has launched the Sierra Legend Series in India, expanding the SUV’s range with more premium cabin features across five variants. Prices start at Rs 11.99 lakh, ex-showroom, with petrol and diesel powertrains available with manual and automatic transmissions.
New variants
The Legend Series starts with the Smart+ L, priced at Rs 11.99 lakh. It gets leatherette seats, door trims and armrests, steering-mounted controls, auto-fold ORVMs and Passive Entry & Passive Start. Bi-LED projector headlamps, six airbags, an electronic parking brake and ESP with more than 20 functions are also standard.
The Pure L, priced at Rs 13.79 lakh, adds 17-inch alloy wheels, premium leatherette interiors and a 26.03cm HD touchscreen infotainment system with an eight-speaker audio system. Wireless Android Auto and Apple CarPlay, cruise control, Hill Descent Control and TPMS are also included.
For another Rs 50,000, the Pure L (O) adds Tata’s Panoramax voice-assisted panoramic sunroof, along with automatic headlamps and rain-sensing wipers. The Pure+ L, priced at Rs 14.99 lakh, focuses more heavily on comfort with ventilated front seats, a six-way powered driver’s seat with thigh support extender and Boss Mode. Dual-zone automatic climate control and dual 65W rear USB-C chargers are also included.
At the top sits the Adventure+ L, starting at Rs 16.99 lakh. It gets a 360-degree HD Surround View System with 4Sight, Superglide Suspension with FDD, multiple terrain modes, a 31.24cm touchscreen infotainment system and a 26.03cm digital cockpit with navigation. It also features front parking sensors, ambient lighting, a two-stage reclining rear seat, wireless charging and a cooled glovebox.
Powertrain
The Sierra continues with three 1.5-litre engines: the Revotron petrol, Hyperion TGDi petrol and Kryojet diesel. Depending on the variant, these are offered with manual or automatic transmissions. Every Sierra also gets a 5-star Bharat NCAP-rated body structure, six airbags, ESP with 20 functions and all-wheel disc brakes.
Final thoughts
The Legend Series does not change the Sierra’s core package. Instead, Tata has spread several of its desirable comfort and convenience features further down the range. This makes the Rs 13.79 lakh Pure L and Rs 14.99 lakh Pure+ L particularly important steps in the Sierra’s variant walk-up.
